TGS Ambulance used in emergency situation

TGS often receives feedback from customers which indicate the essential role that vehicles supplied by TGS play in helping to alleviate sometimes desperate situations. This is a first-hand eye witness account of a life-saving situation where an ambulance supplied by TGS was deployed to help transport a 12 year old boy to hospital for emergency treatment.

The words and pictures speak for themselves:

Today we as a team had the privilege to help this boy 12 years old to get to medical help in Pemba Provincial Hospital.

He was in an explosion yesterday… and obtained 90% burn wounds ..

He lives with his family on a remote island north from us...

Due to ocean tides his family was only able to get him to the district hospital on another island last night.

In the morning, they transferred him by boat to the mainland in order to transfer him via ambulance to Pemba Provincial Hospital, only to realize the ambulance was out or order!!!!!!!!!!

At this village our team was doing food distribution as part of relief work after Cyclone Kenneth and was able to contact our pilot and our medical team in order to fly him out to Pemba with the Iris plane...and we could rush him into hospital from the airport with our ambulance ?? in Pemba.

Driving this boy, his dad and the local doctor from Ibo Hospital to our provincial hospital here in Pemba I started crying being completely overwhelmed with so much emotion...

first with joy that this is what we are able to do...

with gratitude that sponsors are supporting us and praying for us in order that we are physically able to do this ...

with a sense of being overwhelmed with the need and desperation in this nation..

with the realization once again of the possibilities and opportunities where we can make a difference...

with a desire more than I can bare... to see this grow and expand into so much more...
